Philosophy Festival in Greece®
«To those who think that Greece today is a country of no importance, I want to say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, as it once was, Greece is of the utmost importance to anyone trying to find themselves. Mine is not an isolated experience. And perhaps I should add that no one needs what Greece has to offer as much as the Americans. Greece is not only the antithesis of America, but above all it is the solution to the evils that afflict it. It may seem unimportant economically, but spiritually Greece is still the mother of nations, the source of wisdom and inspiration».
So wrote Henry Miller in 1941, in his reportage on Greece. The gods still live in the land where everything was born, where breathtaking landscapes ignite new energies and ancient mindfulness; where it’s easy to experience the vertigo of body and mind known as Stendhal's syndrome. For example, climbing the stairs of the Acropolis in Athens, or crossing the sacred area of the holiest of sanctuaries in Delphi; or listening to the sound of our voice in the theatre of Epidaurus. Nature and culture come together in a land that still transmits us the sense of philosophizing and of a possible and unrepeatable εὐδαιμονία that reconciles us with humanity, because the Greeks are a people full of enthusiasm, curiosity and passion.
